Been dieting hard all week? You deserve to take a break and treat yourself to something special on the weekend! Cocktail buns (also called coconut buns) are the delicious soft buns with the sweet, buttery coconut filling that you'll find in Chinese bakeries and sometimes at dim sum brunch. Coconut buns are one of the easier Chinese treats to make - the sweet coconut filling is combined with a basic dough recipe and the buns are baked. As a final touch, the still warm buns are brushed with a honey/water mixture before serving. The recipe includes a nutritional breakdown.
