Romantic New Year's Eve Dinner for Two
Dec 28th 2011, 10:05

Spring RollsSo, you've decided to skip the crowds and spend New Year's Eve at home with a loved one. Here are some ideas for a romantic New Year's dinner for two, from appetizers through to dessert. These should go well with most types of champagne (in general, when serving champagne, it's best to stick with lightly spiced Cantonese cuisine, particularly seafood dishes). If you're serving wine, a German Riesling would be a good choice.

Here are a few examples:

Appetizers: Spring Rolls, Potstickers, Crab Rangoon, or Baked Crab Rangoon (the crab/cream cheese mixture is served as a dip and the wonton chips are the dippers)
Main Dishes: Shrimp With Lobster Sauce (with the lighter white sauce found at take-out restaurants), Cantonese Steamed Chicken, Steamed Fish
Dessert: Fresh fruit, Ginger Ice Cream,
Fortune Cookies
